The green movement, while seen by more and more as a sexy new industry, is not only limited to conspicuous consumption. The major cause of pollution in this world is from industrial sources and ways to combat this must come not only from daily household changes but new methods for industrial commodity creation.
This is where Brent Constantz comes in. The Stanford professor has developed a new form of cement that is carbon neutral, and does it at roughly 10% less cost than traditional cement. This effectively takes out a major source of carbon emissions in the world if more folks know about it.
Perhaps such discoveries will lead to greater innovation in commodities.
