Fall is officially here, and Net Impact NYC members will be out and about at some great social impact events this month. Here’s a few events we’re attending—catch up with us there!
Tuesday, October 13: Shining Hope for Communities’ free book tour event is happening at 7PM at Barnes & Nobles (2289 Broadway New York, NY). SHOFCO founders Jessica & Kennedy Odede will be “in conversation” with Mia Farrow at Barnes & Nobles about Find Me Unafraid, the book they wrote about their love story and the founding of the organization. No need to get tickets or RSVP—it’s first come, first serve!
Tuesday, October 13: The Sustainability Practice Network is hosting a free panel ‘UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals – Impacts on Companies and their Stakeholders‘ at the Robert Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity – Room 750, 151 E. 25th Street (between Lexington and 3rd Avenue). This discussion will address what the UN’s new Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 mean for the business community, seeking to answer: How will the SDGs push the sustainability agenda forward, involving companies as partners? What are resources for companies seeking to align their corporate responsibility goals with the SDGs? What impact will they have on the development of legislation or incentives affecting companies? RSVP at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Attendees will hear how companies like UPS, BSR, Edelman, and The Vitality Institute are changing the way we do business and how it’s impacting society and the environment.
